| Little is really known about the man who calls himself Noknor (Knock-Noor). The name does not exist as a family or given name in any of the kingdoms of the Old World, although there is a similar word "nacnorn" (Nuck-noorn), which is the name for a powerful group of demons in Arcainian mythology. The nacnorn are regarded as the Honor Guard of Hell and the Dark One's most loyal and able generals, although it is unknown if Noknor or his parents named him after these demons. Many legends & rumors abound about Noknor, who he is, and where he came from. One of the most popular usually taken as the closest thing to truth is that Noknor was born into a prominent and wealthy Arcainian family (his Arcainian heritage is one of the few facts known). His father was someone of importance, possibly a governer or senador, but some say only a mayor or magistrate. His mother was not involved in politics but was something of a socialite because of her husband's station. She was a powerful witch well schooled in Dark magick and a follower of the Dark One's evil, a secret she probably kept from even her husband. She introduced her young son to Dark magick and was his teacher. Some say that his mother gave Noknor his name, others say that Noknor gave it to himself while still others claim that the Dark One himself bestowed him the title when Noknor sold his soul and huminity to the evil god. About 60 years before the events of Book I: The Roots of Evil there was a huge scandal in which the Arcainian king had discovered that there were followers of the Dark One in his ranks. A massive hunt had been conducted leading to several dozen arrests, including two Arcainian governors, four senadors, and many other prominent figures in Arcainian society. Although there were only eight convictions, at least four accused where known to have committed suicide prior to trial while many others lost their positions. Given Noknor's age, it is very possible that one or both of Noknor's parents had been involved in this scandal and had even been among those convicted. There is even a very strong rumor that Noknor may have killed both of his parents or at least his mother during a Dark magick ritual. It is known for a fact that Noknor did not always look the way he currently does but that he took on his demonic appearance after selling his soul to the Dark One in a horrific ritual. It is not known, however, exactly when he performed his particular ritual. Prior to killing Grand General Richard Viccon and his Chinese wife Fang, Noknor was relatively unknown, so it is generally thought that it was shortly before this double murder. Before killing the elder Viccons, Noknor been considered a low level threat, mostly because he was a known follower of the Dark One. He had put out a call for soldiers, but had little success as not many, even other followers of the Dark, took him very seriously. That all changed when he murdered Richard and Fang right before their young son's eyes. He instantly became the most wanted man not only in Arcainia but in all five kingdoms of the Old World. Followers flocked to his side and soldiers were enticed by such a ballsy move and by the riches he offered. The more followers he gather the more trouble he was able to cause, such as raiding towns and villiages for money, supplies, and victims for his Dark rituals. Even though he was hunted relentlessly he was able to stay hidden and terrorize the Old World. When he finally had enough troops for the task he decided it was time to begin conquering the Old World one kingdom at a time. He chose to attack Kuberica for several reasons. He knew Arcainia was much too powerful while the smaller kingdoms Radinoz and Holgrafia were too small to even waste his time with. Kuberica had many soldiers but few actually guarding the castle. The castle itself had many design flaws which would make it easy to take and it was seperated from Kuberica City making it easy to sneak up on. The sealing decision was the fact that it housed the fabled Swuenedras Amulet somewhere in its walls. With the fall of Kuberica Castle and the power of the ancient talisman the rest of the kingdom quickly bowed to him while more soldiers rushed to join his Dark Army. It was Noknor's plan that when he had enough support to both protect his new castle and march out he would take the crowns of the other kingdoms, starting with the weak Radinoz and Holgrafia. Shazadia would be targeted next and then, and only then, would he possess the strength to take on Arcainia and the new Grand General, Sir Kain Viccon, the once young boy who had witnessed his parents' gruesome murders. |

| Biography: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Noknor has green skin, pointed ears, and sharp teeth. Perhaps his most frightening feature is his eyes which glow red. His eyes dull and brighten depending on his mood, engery level (tired, hyper, etc.), and his excitement level; the happier or angrier he is, the brighter his eyes will flash. Noknor is a large man, about 6'7" and 300lbs, and although he is older, about 60 years old, he is very strong and fit and is an excellent fighter. This is not from the power he received when he sold his soul to the Dark One, Noknor in naturally a big man and keeps in shape, training in hand-to-hand combat daily (although he does focus more on his magick training). Selling his soul merely made him look like a demon and increased his magickal powers greatly. Because of the way he looks and his large size he is very imposing and can intimidate even the toughest and bravest of men. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Physical Description: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Noknor is very mean and cruel. He enjoys torturing people in the most gruesome of ways and delights in tormenting and frightening others. He knows his appearance unnerves people and he loves this fact. He is very smart and intelligent, with a sense of culture and class about him. This coupled with his fine tastes hint towards his wealthy upbringing. He speaks well, and this quite often confuses people because of his gruesome appearance. He is prone to fits of murderous rage and will often kill his own men out of anger even if they had nothing to do with it. He is also somewhat insane, although whether this has anything to do with selling his soul is unknown. He is a megalomaniac, and this becomes more pronounced as his power grows. With the power of the Swuenedras Amulet he becomes convinced that he really is a god. He feels no pity and no remorse for anything he does and actually thinks others weak and pathetic for harboring such emotions. He has never known love and probably never will, but does exhibit lust and has no quams with rape. His only fear is losing his power, but even though he thinks of himself immortal deep down he is afraid of death because he knows that since he has no soul he will cease to exist. |

| Personality: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Noknor's greatest power is his abilities with Dark magick; he is the most powerful warlock in the Old World. He is also very smart and clever, and he is able to detect an enemy's weakness and exploit it. He is physically strong and is an excellent fighter, particularly with his bladed staff. He is very gifted leader, albeit one that uses fear and terror to drive his followers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Strengths: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Noknor's greatest weakness is possibly his greatest strength: he is insane. He is prone to fits of rage which do often times give him strength and bring terror to the hearts of his enemies & allies alike. However, his rage can cloud his judgement, making him reckless and careless. He is obsessive and easily frustrated, which excites his rage. His obsessive nature is readily apparent in his desire to have Nancy Viccon as his wife, not because he loves her but because he knows that conquering the girl would be the greatest dishonor he could shame her father and her brother with. Because he wants her alive, as well as her brother and cousin so that he can deal with them all personally, he often gives up opportunities to rid himself of them. He is very smart but often his plans are highly detailed and complicated, leading to his eventual downfall (or possibly leading to his greatest success). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
